In the name of care

This site is dedicated to the thousands of children who have had their childhood stolen from them by Social Services in the UK. There is no doubt that Social Services do good and necessary work, but they have an army of staff to promote these good deeds, and and unlimited budget to defend themselves through the Courts every time they fail. We have all heard of their failures. They are not going to be repeated here, as they are well aired elsewhere. But just look at the conclusions drawn each time we have a long drawn-out enquiry. That a few individuals failed to follow procedures and that management and supervision were at fault. All of which can be rectified with more training and closer working with other agencies. More power and more money to Social Services, and in the end, more of the same. The same abuse of power in the name of care.

FORMAT

The site will primarily consist of stories, gleaned from wherever possible. All names will be fictitious, not only of children, but also adults and Social Services, to avoid the wrath of the Courts. Hopefully you will want to submit your own stories as the site develops. Articles from parents, children and social workers would be welcome. The actual truth of each story cannot be guaranteed. Use your own judgement. As the number of stories increase, you may begin to discern a general pattern, that will lend authenticity to individual stories. At the end of each story, I may add a short analysis of my own. Please discount this and use your own judgement.

All stories are copyright, but the copyright holder gives unlimited right to reproduce the story, both in whole and in part, provided only that the message is not wilfully distorted. This free copying will ensure that if a story is ever removed from the site because of a Court Order, it may well persist elsewhere. If you submit a story, then please confirm your willingness to agree to this freedom to copy.
